Hope you’re recovered from that heart-shaped holiday cuz The Soundbank is exploding with a melange of “new-to-you” and returning talent for this month’s 3rd Thursday acoustic showcase, including sets from Mighty Joe Castro, Bright Kelly, Abby Sacks, and The FlipCharts!
(acts listed in order of play)
The FlipCharts are a two-piece alt-Americana band from Philadelphia, formed in 2017 by Phil Carter (formerly of Das Damen) and Ennis Carter. Harkening to the sounds of Big Star, Jayhawks, and the Everly Brothers, this unique combination fuses double lead guitars & vocals and guitar virtuosity with hard-driving rhythm. Their latest tracks were recorded at the iconic Sun Studio in Memphis, TN.

Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since ABBY SACKS graced the stage here, but the erstwhile frontperson of The Bad Novembers and Sangre Luna is back with a set of acoustic tunes in the dark Americana/indie songwriter style that you remember!
BRIGHT KELLY, dubbed the Gritty City Bard by his listener community, combines a raspy voice and indie pop arrangements with introspective lyricism and a wild stage presence. For fans of everything from Springsteen and The Gaslight Anthem to Elliot Smith and Bon Iver. https://brightkelly.bandcamp.com/
MIGHTY JOE CASTRO is an accomplished Pennsylvania based collage artist, songwriter and musician. He fronts the Ameripolitan Rockabilly / mid-century rock-n-roll band, Mighty Joe Castro and the Gravamen.
